New Crias

A very eventful ten days at Long Acres Alpaca Farm.  Four new crias from our young stud, Mercurio.  Mercurio is proudly co-owned with our good friends, Jim and Helen Humphreys at Silvercloud Farm. From a black with white feet we got a fawn with white in a tuxedo pattern.  From a silver grey tuxedo pattern we got a near twin of the first one.  Then came a fawn from fawn.  Today the latest was born. She is either beige or white.  In total we now have five crias from Mercurio on our farm.  He has at least four at other farms.  All appear to have exceptionally nice fleece.  The other exciting  aspect of his crias is COLOR.  Mercurio is beige.  All but the cria born today have darker colors including dark brown or bay black, and various shades of fawn.

This evening was exceptionally beautiful.  As the sun was setting I was enjoying sitting in the paddock with the dams and their new crias.  I took many pictures but could only get one of all young ones together.  There is no spot on earth I would have rather been.
