I snapped this picture of the fall crias the other day. I was walking in the field from a direction different from what they were used to seeing so of course, their curiosity got the best of them. They are almost four months old now. Getting very independent and somewhat defiant. We sheared their cria tips in September soon after they were born, so when the temperature drops or wind picks up, we put blankets on them. Some nights they think it's a game of chase, especially if it's been a little warm and the temperature drops right at sunset. That's when they really like to pronk. It's extra fun to see even the older ones and you really appreciate their athleticism. We rarely close them in at night. Most times they have the sense to come in out of the elements, although on occassion, one of the young ones will be kushed out in inclement weather, not a care to the world. It's good to go out to the barn, late at night, and see everyone kushed and chewing cud.
